The title of KC, which entitles the bearer to address the highest court in the U.K., the Privy Council, has been bestowed on fewer than one percent of The Bahamas’ practicing attorneys.

Born in Nassau in 1953 and admitted to the Bar of England & Wales, Lincoln’s Inn in 1978 after completing his legal studies at the College of Law in London, Mortimer is one of the country’s leading authorities on shipping and maritime law.

Stephen Anthony Turnquest was born in Nassau in 1958. Mr. Turnquest received his LLB from the University of The West Indies in June 1985. He earned a Certificate of Legal Education from the Norman Manley Law School in Jamaica in 1987. Mr. Turnquest was called to The Bahamas Bar in the same year and is a member of The Bahamas Bar Association. His practice areas include Commercial and Civil Litigation (including personal injuries), Employment Law, Insolvency, Admiralty Law and Medical Malpractice.
